The car was designed by Fiat Style Centre. Austrian automotive company Magna Steyr Engineering of a large amount of the car body and interior. CAD simulations and computer engineering have been used on a large scale model and design has been completed to a tight schedule. Bravo will be imported by India as CBU Fiat (Compeletely built units) from Italy and will be sold in a price range of 16-18 lakhs. It is due to our high tax structure, which is 104 percent on imports loan. Fiat said that Bravo will be sold in limited numbers as the recently launched Fiat 500.
Engines - It is available with two engine options - a petrol and diesel. Diesel is 1910cc, 4 cylinder with an output of 150 hp at 4000 rpm with maximum torque of 305nm at 2000 rpm.
And the gasoline engine is 1368cc, 4 cylinder with a power of 148bhp at 5500rpm and maximum torque at 2250rpm 21kgm. Both engines have been developed in-house by Fiat and are technically very advanced compared to its rivals.
Interiors & Comfort - Despite the swooping roofline, there is plenty of headroom in the cabin, but kneeroom rear is tight compared to class leaders. Luggage space is more generous, thanks to the very depth of the shoe, even if you lift something on a high load lip and the rear wheel arch intrusion.
It features a height adjustable driver's seat and steering wheel that moves for both reach and rake to help you at ease. However, Bravo stylish exterior takes its toll on rear visibility, with a small rear screen, a sharp increase in waistline and chunky rear pillars create any blind spots.
Ride & Handling - The Bravo can not match the lightness of the best small family cars because its light steering has an artificial and there is plenty of roll when cornering. To make matters worse, the suspension struggles to cope with imperfections in the road surface, making the nerve pathway.
One of the best aspects of the Bravo is calm. Road noise is well suppressed, and although there is wind noise, it is far from intrusive. Engine noise disappears into the background at a steady cruise.
Security - Bravo very well in Euro NCAP tests, earning the maximum five stars for adult safety and impressive three stars for the safety of children. All models are equipped with six airbags and every model has Isofix child seat mounting points on outer rear seats. Traction control and electronic stability control are optional.
Reliability - Fiat is working to improve the reliability of its cars and the engines were generally fairly robust, the problems in the past have tended to be niggling faults to do with electrical engineering, or standards.
The recent launch of Linea & Punto has done wonders for Fiat and it is anticipated that the company will not make any mistakes this time. They are keen to improve its past reputation and its dealer network overhaul of India with the help of Tata Motors as they are the authorized dealers to sell Fiat cars in India.
